What Is the BMX Track?
The Woodward Park BMX Track is a dedicated cycling area tucked into the far north end of Woodward Park in Fresno. It is one of the only free-access BMX and mountain bike dirt riding areas in the Central Valley — open to riders of all skill levels and hosted by USA BMX for organized weekly racing.
Where Is the BMX Track Inside Woodward Park?
This is the part most visitors miss. The BMX track is not near the main entrance. Head north — all the way to the far end of the park past the Regional Sports Complex. Keep going until you see the dirt trails opening up on your left. Google Maps has it labeled as “BMX bike trail” and that’s exactly what it looks like from above — a network of winding dirt paths carved into the hillside.
What’s Actually There
The BMX area has two distinct sections:
1. The Race Track
A proper BMX race circuit used for organized competition. This is where the serious riders come to test their speed and cornering.
2. The Freestyle Dirt Area
A network of dirt hills and jumps where you can ride at your own pace. No race registration needed — just show up, ride, and have fun. This is perfect for mountain bikers who want to test their bike on real terrain without driving to the mountains.
The Weekly Races — Sunday and Thursday
Woodward Park BMX hosts local races every Sunday and Thursday. If you want to compete or just watch, here’s how it works:
- Registration Opens: 6:00 PM
- Registration Closes: 7:00 PM
- Race Start: As soon as registration closes
Races are organized through USA BMX. For full details on who is hosting, current schedules, and how to register, visit the official track page at USA BMX — Woodward Park.
Who Is This For?

- BMX riders looking for a local track with real competition
- Families with older kids ready for more than a playground
