Old Town Clovis is the historic heart of Clovis, centered on Pollasky Avenue. It’s a walkable downtown full of antique shops, boutiques, restaurants and coffee spots, with Western small-town character. Locals come for the Saturday farmers market, seasonal festivals and holiday events.
A little history
- Clovis is named after Clovis M. Cole, known as the “Wheat King of the United States” in the 1880s and 1890s.
- Pollasky Avenue is named after Marcus Pollasky, the developer who brought the railroad to town.
- The Clovis Museum tells these stories, including the famous 1924 bank robbery. The Historical Society reenacts it every year on the last Saturday of February.
