ÂI’m excited to inform you about Fresno’s upcoming free dump event! Mark your calendars for March 23-24, May 4-5, and June 1-2, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. During these dates, you can bring accepted items such as appliances, furniture, and construction debris to 3457 S. Cedar Ave.

The food bank supports over 300,000 individuals each month, a testament to our community’s resilience in the face of adversity. Despite the hurdles we encounter, our commitment remains unwavering.
Moreover, fiscal year 2022 marked a significant milestone for them, with 46 million pounds of food distributed to our needy neighbors. This achievement underscores the collective impact of our collaborative endeavors and demonstrates what can be accomplished when they work together towards a common goal.
However, Their work is far from over. The harsh reality of food insecurity continues to loom over many Central California households. As we look to the future, we are driven by a sense of urgency to expand our reach and support even more needy individuals and families.
With every meal served, They strive to alleviate hunger and nurture hope and dignity within our community. They empower individuals to build brighter futures for themselves and their loved ones through nutrition education programs and advocacy efforts.

In Fresno County, ensuring warmth and safety becomes paramount when winter’s chill sets in. When overnight temperatures dip below 35 degrees, residents can seek refuge at Warming centers, strategically located across the county. These centers provide a haven from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, ensuring that no one is left out in the cold.
The Maxie L. Parks Community Center, located at 1802 East California Ave, is one such sanctuary.
The Mosqueda Community Center, located at 4670 E. Butler Ave, also welcomes those in need.
The Ted C. Wills Community Center, located at 770 N. San Pablo Ave, stands ready to welcome individuals seeking warmth and safety.
These centers provide cots, blankets, and pet cages, keeping both humans and animal companions warm throughout the night. Additionally, FAX offers complimentary rides to and from these centers, ensuring accessibility for all residents regardless of their means of transportation.
Meanwhile, in the neighboring city of Clovis, the Police and Fire Headquarters Building Lobby at 1233 Fifth Street stands as a beacon of warmth, open 24/7 with no temperature threshold. Likewise, the City of Kingsburg extends its support with a weekday warming center available from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, providing relief during daytime hours.
During operating hours, Residents are encouraged to seek warmth at Fresno County Public Library locations. While not official warming centers, these libraries offer a respite from the cold.
However, warming services such as warm food or accommodation for non-service animals may not be available. Nonetheless, residents are welcome to utilize the facilities and even sign up for a free library card while they’re there.
